Stripey Stork, the Surrey-based baby bank, is thrilled to have been chosen as Osborne’s 2020 charity partner. The new partnership will span over 12 months and generate much-needed funds as well as raise awareness about the charity in the wider community.

Osborne is one of the UK’s leading family owned construction businesses, with its main head office based in Reigate. Their focus is on creating structures and spaces that provide an environment for people to thrive in, through driving customer-led solutions. Osborne’s is renowned for its strong commitment to social value and are active players in the community.

Stripey Stork, also based in Reigate, was founded in 2013 and has become a lifeline for many vulnerable families in the area. The charity collects new and pre-loved items for babies and children and distribute them to vulnerable families via a network of referral partners, including schools, health visitors, social services and women’s refuges. To date, the charity has met over 9,000 requests for help by providing clothes, books, toys and equipment for local babies and children to a value of over £2.8m.

The collaboration came about when a member of their management team visited Stripey Stork’s warehouse to donate some children’s items which their family no longer needed. They were so impressed with the set-up and touched by the stories they heard, that the nomination was put forward and Stripey Stork won the vote!

The new partnership hopes to raise thousands of pounds for Stripey Stork through a series of fundraising initiatives, such as Bake Offs, Dress Down days, raffles and various sponsored events. The team at Stripey Stork already have some creative fundraising ideas too and look forward to joining forces to make this as exciting and successful as possible.

Nicola Dawes, Stripey Stork Founder and General Manager, said: “We are excited about this new partnership and the support from Osborne who clearly share our values. Partners become extensions of our team and we are delighted to have Osborne on board. Their support will help us to further develop our service which delivers such a direct benefit to the most vulnerable families in our community”.

Andrew Osborne, Chairman at Osborne, added: “It’s so rewarding to be able to help a local charity like this and we are looking forward to working with Stripey Stork to make a real impact to young families in and around Surrey”.

To kick off the partnership, Osborne had their first team volunteering session at Stripey Stork’s warehouse on Friday 28th February. A team of 16 Osborne employees were kept busy checking, sorting and packing donations ready to go out to worthy families.

They had the opportunity to talk with some referral partners collecting items on behalf of the supported families. They all wholeheartedly agreed that the day was enjoyable, whilst being immensely worthwhile.

We look forward to meeting more of the Osborne team and working together on this new partnership.
