Stripes4Stripey

Join us in making this annual fundraiser our biggest and most successful yet...

Thursday 18th June is our day of wearing stripes, where we ask our supporters to get stripey with socks, a top, an accessory or the whole shebang, and donate to help local families in need. We want to build up a fund to buy socks, underwear and PJs – items we need all year round to complete our clothing packs.

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, we are busier than ever, so this year we want to ‘go large’! For every day in June leading up to Stripes4Stripey Day, we will be focusing our fundraising efforts on this campaign, with a variety of ways in which local communities, schools and businesses can get involved.

June's countdown to Stripes4Stripey

We have lots of children’s activities planned for Stripes4Stripey month and we’d love for your family to join in the fun. If you’ve enjoyed any of the below, please consider making a donation to our campaign as a show of appreciation.

Today’s free activity: Give Stripey some colour!

You will need: Colouring pens or pencils (and any other craft materials you’d like to use).

What to do: Download this free colouring sheet designed by the fantastic Nicola B and colour it in!

Once you’re done, why not display in your window for everyone to enjoy.

We’d love to see your finished picture – upload to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #Stripes4Stripey2020.

Today’s free activity: Stripey loves stories!

Do you love reading like Stripey?

Join Donna and Stripey for Storytime at 10am today, reading local author Eoin Laughlin’s soon to be released book While We Can’t Hug. Just head over to the Infinity: a Space to grow Facebook page at 10am.

Click here to watch the video (posted after the event).

To make Stripey’s bookmark, you will need: Paper or card, colouring pens or pencils (and any other craft materials you’d like to use).

What to do: Follow these written instructions to make a Stripey Stork inspired corner bookmark. You can also watch this fab video by one of our young supporters Charlie, demonstrating how to make the bookmark.

Today’s free activity: Stripey’s model making challenge!

Today’s challenge is to create a model of something to do with Stripey Stork. It could be Stripey himself, a cot, pram or toy. Stripey Stork won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service last year, you could even make a model of Her Majesty!

You will need: Materials to make a model – Lego/Duplo/playdough/junk modelling.

What to do: See instructions for inspiration. Here’s what Becca, one of our young supporters, came up with as she recreated the Stripey Stork warehouse in Lego – take the tour here.

We’d love to see your finished model – upload to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #Stripes4Stripey2020.

Today’s free activity: Stripey’s activity pages!

It’s time to get busy! Can you solve the wordsearch, master the tongue twister and help Stripey through the maze to find his nest?

You will need: Colouring pens and pencils.

What to do: Download this free activity workbook.

Don’t forget – upload your photos to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #Stripes4Stripey2020.

Bake something yummy – and stripey of course – to share with your family.

You will need: Ingredients for your stripey baking.

What to do: Find a Stripey recipe to follow. These rainbow biscuits from Red Ted look brilliant and are made using just flour, butter, sugar and food colouring, or you could do use a plain biscuit or cake and decorate it with stripes.
