Stripes4Stripey is the day when we ask everyone to wear something Stripey and donate to Stripey Stork.
The money raised from Stripes4Stripey is used to buy the new items of clothing that we like to add to the pre-loved clothing packs that we give out all year round, including pants, socks and PJs.
At Stripey Stork, we believe that every child deserves the same start in life – they should have clothes that fit comfortably and make them feel good.
Over the last year, Stripey Stork has given out an astonishing 2,082 clothing packs! These are lovingly put together by our volunteers and made up of clothing which is mostly pre-loved, donated by families in the community. It’s recycling at it’s best!
We hear lots of stories of families who are struggling to make ends meet at the moment, and rising utility bills and the cost of living are set to make things even more difficult. This year we’re aiming to raise £5,000, which will help us to buy enough new pants to make up 1,000 clothing packs.
We’re always delighted when schools join in the fun for Stripes4Stripey. Teachers tells us that Stripey Stork is a tangible way to teach children about charity, recycling and appreciating that there are people less fortunate than them.
We have lots of resources on our website including colouring sheets which you may like to use.
We also have a brilliant video from Earlswood school music teacher Mr Scullin.
Do you know which planet is closest to the sun? Or, how many times Brazil has won the World Cup? Why not come along to Reigate Manor on Thursday 23rd June for the Stripes4Stripey Quiz Night?
The Quiz falls on the same day as our campaign, so the perfect excuse to wear your stripes! You can choose the vegetarian or chicken curry to fuel your brain power, and it’s just £15 per person. Fill a table with a team, or come along and join up with like-minded individuals.
The bar opens at 6.30pm, with the quiz starting at 7.30pm until 11.30pm.
Stripey will see you there!
It’s been a turbulent two years and it’s time to have some fun! Stripes4Stripey is an easy way to engage your teams, support a local charity and make a real difference in the local community. Encourage everyone to take part and we’d love to see your photos.
Perhaps you’d like to hold a competition for the most stripey outfit, or the most creative use of stripes? Cake sales are always popular (and you get extra points for making your bakes stripey!)
Our fun art competition is open to all primary school age children, with two categories – Infants (school years R-2) and Juniors (school years 3-6).
Entries will be displayed in our Stripes4Stripey gallery in The Belfry Shopping Centre. Win gift vouchers from Toy Barnhaus. We are delighted to share that entries will be judged by the Reigate and Banstead Mayor Cllr Frank Kelly.
Winners will be announced on Thursday 30th June. Good luck!
