What we do at Stripey Stork

We collect donations of toys, clothes and other essential items for babies and children and, after checking they meet current UK safety standards, rehome them with local families experiencing hardship.

We do not accept direct referrals from families/individuals and instead receive requests from local professionals (schools, health visitors, social workers, family centres, women’s shelters etc.) on behalf of families in need across Surrey and sometimes beyond.

We then try and meet the request using the items we already have in stock or by putting a call out to our supporters via our Facebook and Twitter page.

Stripey Stork prides itself on passing on items in great condition. We want the families who receive items from us to feel like they are receiving a gift and not a handout.

Want to donate toys, clothes or other items but not in Surrey?

While we hope to expand our services in future we largely support the Surrey region where we are located and do not offer a collection service.  There are however a number of other amazing organisations around the UK who may be able to accept your donations of toys, clothes and other children’s items.
