Stripey Stork are offering after school Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteering placements, for young people who are looking for a rewarding experience supporting and working with an award-winning charity.
Stripey Stork is a Registered Charity In England and Wales (1161613), and a proud recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, which was awarded in 2019.
As an inclusive workspace we want to welcome a diverse range of people where everyone feels valued, and people from all backgrounds can work together effectively.
This ethos complements the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and together we can work in partnership to help you achieve your own individual D of E Award.
What will placements involve?
Our referrals are packed with love and care to feel like a gift, and not a handout. Making sure donated items meet current safety standards and are in excellent condition is the first step to achieving this.
We can accommodate Bronze, Silver and Gold students who need to complete regular volunteering hours. Tasks will include sorting clothing, making up activity packs, hygiene packs and school bags, checking and cleaning equipment such as highchairs and travel cots to make sure all donated items are ready to go out to families in need.
Placements will also involve group fundraising, and contributing to our research to help us develop the service we offer to teenagers needing support in Surrey.
Volunteering will take place at our warehouse in Reigate, with the occasional opportunity to take on extra tasks at events and seasonal activities off-site.

By joining Stripey Stork and learning about recycling and repurposing, you will be helping to keep high-quality items that could have another life out of landfill.
