Santa Stork 2025

Santa Stork has now finished for 2024. Our core work continues and if you need to make a referral please visit our referrals page.

Santa Stork returns for 2025, and we are delighted to announce that we will be working with Truly Giving again to provide Christmas presents for children across Surrey, Croydon and surrounding areas. Both organisations have a track record of providing Christmas gifts to families across Surrey and beyond for many years and will once again join forces to deliver a special Christmas campaign.

This year, we’re introducing a brand new online referral form for Santa Stork, making it even easier to request the items you need for families.

To best meet the needs of your families, there will be two options for you to choose from.

Stripey Stork Christmas Gifts

Stripey Stork will provide a main gift and available stocking fillers for each child referred. When completing the referral form, you’ll be able to select the gift category that best suits the child you’re requesting for. Our team of elves will then choose a suitable present from that category, selected from the wonderful donations we receive from the community. All gifts are brand new.

This service is ideal when the specific choice of gift is less important than ensuring every child receives a present. We’re very fortunate to receive many fantastic donations, including dolls, craft sets, games, LEGO and gifts for babies and teenagers so there are plenty of options for you to choose. Please complete one form for each family, indicating the gift requested for each child.

Please note that only one Christmas gift can be requested per child to help us ensure fair and consistent support for every family that’s referred to us.

Option 2: Truly Giving Individualised Gifts

For families where you think a particular gift, or type of gift, is really important (eg. A child who loves Peppa Pig, Barbie, football, gaming), refer to Truly Giving. They will ask for the age, gender, and interests of the child, and match them with a donor who provides a gift tailored to the child’s wishes.

Stripey Stork and Truly Giving are working together and will share data to avoid duplication of requests and ensure that the fantastic community support is used to best effect.

All gifts will come unwrapped for parents and carers to personalise them.

All gifts can be collected from the Stripey Stork offices in Redhill. Delivery of gifts is possible in some instances with prior arrangement.

  1. Visit the Truly Giving website and click on the login button in the top right of the homepage. You can register for the first time here.
  2. Wait for your registration to be approved.
  3. Upload the details of your request by returning to the log in page.

FAQs

Referral partners submit an online form with basic information about the family (age/gender of the children etc), and indicate the type of gift the child would like (for example – ‘craft set’, or ‘lego’). Our volunteers will then select an age-appropriate gift and stocking fillers for the children, from the selection donated by the community. We can’t guarantee the exact gift we’ll give, and will sometimes have to offer an alternative based on what’s available. We always want to give the most suitable gift we can to every child, so referral partners will also have the option to swap or select a different gift when they collect from us, subject to stock.

We have developed an online referralform, just like the one you might use for other requests to our service. Now you can fill in the online form per family (or request an option to order in bulk). You will then be offered a link to book a collection slot or to request delivery.

FAQs - making a Santa Stork referral

The idea behind Santa Stork has always been supporting those families who are in hardship, where the children are unlikely to receive any other Christmas presents, so we are asking you to use your judgement to make sure families meet this criteria. If your request to us is a top-up to other gifts, then Santa Stork may not be appropriate. We really want to focus on those who would potentially have a present-less Christmas if it weren’t for this support.

Any family living in Surrey or the London Boroughs of Croydon or Sutton, who are experiencing poverty and would not otherwise have gifts at Christmas, is eligible to be referred to Santa Stork. Requests must come from a professional supporting the family – as with our regular support requests.

There is no limit, but please only refer families you support directly, families you know meet the above criteria, and families who are not being supported by any other Christmas giving scheme this year. All requests will be subject to available stock / funds.

Please complete one form for each family, indicating the gift requested for each child. Please note that only one Christmas gift can be requested per child to help us ensure fair and consistent support for every family that’s referred to us.

As the families are anonymous to us, we have no way of knowing any duplications. We kindly ask that you check with your colleagues, the parents/carers and any other possible support workers whether they have already been referred. In previous years we received feedback that sometimes two or more present bundles where given to the same family from different referral sources, so it is very important that you check.

The referrals criteria this year is based on the location of the family, not the referral organisation.

We encourage all siblings up to the age of 18 to be included in your order, as we wouldn’t want any child to be without opening a present on Christmas Day.

There is no option to request parent/carer gifts when submitting your gift order, as the focus is on ensuring we have sufficient funds for the children.

The deadline for making a request to Santa Stork is Monday 8th December. Requests will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis so we advise submitting your request as soon as possible as we may reach a point where we are unable to fulfil the later requests.

We do understand that your caseload can change quickly and we will do our very best to fulfil any late requests, but this cannot be guaranteed.

You will need to complete a new online referral form for this family but please indicate in the notes that this is in addition to your existing order to avoid confusion.

Please liaise with your colleagues to avoid duplications (e.g. one family being referred more than once). Please complete and send your own online forms for the families on your caseload and we will coordinate collections/deliveries, grouping them by organisation/location as much as possible. We will work with you on what the best option is for you and your team.

FAQs - the gifts

Each child will receive a brand new Christmas gift based on age and gender selected from the donations we receive from within the community. We will also add some stocking fillers for some extra Christmas magic.

We know that choice is important in some referrals, and for these requests we encourage our referral partners to click on the Truly Giving link. They will ask for the age, gender, and interests of the child, and match them with a donor who provides a gift tailored to the child’s wishes. The gifts will all be delivered to the Stripey Stork offices in Redhill so can be collected or delivered from there.

We will certainly do our best to fulfil every order, but there are no guarantees with higher costs and limited funding. It’s impossible to know exactly how many requests in total we’ll receive each year. Our Santa Stork aim remains the same, to make Christmas special for all the families referred to us and we’ll be working hard to make this happen but we would ask that you get your requests in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Yes, we know how children love a stocking filler to complement their main gift. We will have a range of stocking fillers including chocolate coins & selection boxes, books, mini Lego sets, socks and teenage toiletries. We will aim to give two stocking fillers with each main gift, subject to availability.

FAQs - delivery/collection

You will be able to book a collection slot when you submit your referral form online, following the same process as for general referrals.

Collection is from our dedicated Santa Stork HQ at Raven House – 29 Linkfield Lane, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1SS.

Delivery to our usual network of hubs may also be available, depending on the number of gifts in each referral and the available space on our van. If there isn’t a suitable delivery option online, please get in touch as we may have some other delivery slots available.

Please email us as soon as possible at santa@stripeystork.org.uk if you are not going to make your pre-booked collection slot, quoting your Santa Stork reference number provided in your confirmation email. This means we can rearrange (or we may be able to arrange delivery instead), whilst freeing up your slot. With funds so limited, if gifts remain uncollected and we are unable to reach you we will make these available to other referral partners.

We recommend emptying your boot and back seat before collecting your gifts as they take up a surprising amount of room and they don’t stack well. Gift bags vary in size but as a guide, 35 gifts take up the boot and back seat of a Ford Focus, and that’s without putting the seats down.

The gifts will provided unwrapped in a plain bag.

You will receive one gift bag per family containing all gifts and stocking fillers. Each bag will have a copy of the referral form attached, listing each child’s age, gender and main present.

Unlike previous years, there won’t be a full list of all the requests you’ve placed, so we strongly advise you to keep track of these yourself using the 5 digit referral numbers you will get on each confirmation email.
