We love getting children and young people involved in the work we do. Partnering with schools is a great way to teach them about non-academic concepts such as community, recycling and charity. Here’s some of the ways that schools and pupils can get involved:
If your school would like to work with us or choose us to be your chosen charity, we’d love to hear from you. Our mascot Stripey, along with our Partnerships Manager, loves to visit school assemblies or classes and talk about the work we do.
We know how important it is that pupils have the right equipment for school, not just for practical reasons but also because we want them to feel positive, included and confident. We work with schools through our School Days campaign to support local families experiencing hardship by providing the following items on request…
We have opportunities for students who are working towards their Bronze, Silver or Gold award to complete their regular volunteering hours with us. Tasks include sorting clothing, making up activity packs, hygiene packs and school bags, checking and cleaning equipment such as highchairs and travel cots to make sure all donated items are ready to go out to families we are supporting.
Placements also involve group fundraising, and contributing to our research to help us develop the service we offer to teenagers needing support in Surrey.
Our focus is the Surrey region and bordering areas. If you are in a different region, see map of UK baby banks to find one near you.
