Stripes4Stripey 2024 was on the third Thursday in June and we celebrated all things stripey to raise money and awareness for Stripey Stork. This year was no different and on a welcomed sunny day the stripes were out in force. Coming together and raising money is vital so that we can continue to work towards achieving our vision that every child in Surrey has access to the essential things they need to develop and meet their potential. We are currently supporting over 200 families every week so this money is so important to ensure we can continue to do this. Thank you to everyone who joined in and donated. So far we have raised…
* including offline donations and gift aid.
There’s still time to donate via our Local Giving page. Thank you.
Team Stork
#TeamStork never fails to impress when it comes to wearing stripes and this year was no different. Staff, volunteers and trustees came out in support for Stripes4Stripey 2024 by wearing stripey t-shirts, socks and trousers.
The community comes together
Every year we are blown away by the support from within our community. We had stripey ice lollies, stripey cake and even stripey ice cream, not to mention the array of Stripey clothing. Thank you to everyone who got involved.
Beryl and Pegs coffee shop in Reigate baked the most delicious Victoria sponge cake with stripey buttercream and donated all proceeds to Stripes4Stripey. They also wore their stripes in support.
Sundae Scoop ice cream shop in Earlswood created a brand new ice cream just for Stripes4Stripey. A delicious blue vanilla ice cream and silky smooth mango sorbet represented Stripey Stork perfectly. They donated proceed from this flavour to Stripes4Stripey.
The wonderful staff, children and parents at Banstead Prep school came out in force to celebrate Stripes4Stripey. Children came in wearing their stripes and they held a stripey ice lolly sale at breaktime. Stripey made and appearance and very much enjoyed all his cuddles with the children.
The Paw Shed in Reigate took Stripes4Stripey to a new level by adding a stripey bowtie to any dogs that came in that day. For the first time ever, we even had a stripey dog.
We were delighted that once again the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Reigate and Banstead showed their support for Stripes4Stripey.
Workplace support for Stripes4Stripey 2024
Throughout the day we received some fantastic pictures from some of our corporate partners. By wearing their stripes they did a fantastic job of raising awareness about the work that we do and by donating to our fundraising appeal they raised vital funds for us. Thank you Unum UK, SES Water, WTW, Celtic Contractors and nTrust.
Testing our knowledge
One of the highlights of Stripes4Stripey is our Quiz Night at Reigate Manor and this year was no exception. It was a night filled with laughs, friendly competition, and delicious curry. We tackled questions on everything from Food and Drink to Science and Nature, Film and TV, and beyond. Not only did we have a great time, but we also managed to raise an incredible amount of money for Stripes4Stripey.
10 teams, made up of supporters, volunteers, partners and staff, put their knowledge to the test and battled it out to come out on top. In a closely fought contest, team “Between the Wines” triumphed by coming closest in the Stripey Stork tie breaker question. The Monday Blues ended up with the wooden spoon but they took in good spirits. Well done to everyone who took part, there were some tough questions there. Thank you to Power Tutors, Caytons Law and Woodhatch WI for taking part alongside our staff, volunteers and supporters.
Thank you to Quiz Master Chris and the Reigate Manor team for hosting us. It was another fabulous evening and we’re extremely grateful for their support.
