Fundraiser's spotlight

Shining a light on our fundraising superstars. Whether it’s weird or wonderful, or both, they deserve a shout-out for their awesomeness. We couldn’t do what we do without them. They are the wind beneath our wing.

If you’re feeling inspired to take action/get active, we’d love to hear from you…

Stripey's latest shining star is...

Olivia and friends web

Olivia: bookmarks and lemonade sale

Congratulations to Olivia, who raised £220 in July 2024, by getting creative making and selling bookmarks, as well as holding a lemonade sale with her friends on the last day of term. Olivia was able to visit the warehouse with her Mum to meet Stripey and some of the team, and see for herself how the funds would be used. It was wonderful to hear that she's interested in becoming one of our young volunteers. We'd be lucky to have her, as it's clear she has great vision along with buckets of enthusiasm.

Emilia: for she’s a jolly good gal

Emilia chose to selflessly help 50 families for her 7th Birthday, over herself. Realising that there was nothing she particularly needed, but hearing that there were children living locally who were in desperate need, she asked for monetary donations to Stripey Stork in lieu of gifts. £95 was donated back in April 2020 from her fundraiser and we used it to buy a bulk order of pencil cases, colouring pencil sets and pens. This was really useful for the homeschooled children we were supporting through COVID-19.

Charlie: her kindness bake sale

At age 7, Charlie took action! She’d been planning a Stripey Stork fundraiser cake sale at her school for a while, even asking Santa in 2019 for a cupcake tablecloth to get the job done. It was planned for just before the schools shut due to COVID-19, but that didn’t deter Charlie. She setup stall at home and went virtual before it became a thing. Those who had already promised to help bake, contributed the cost of the ingredients to our COVID-19 fund. We are so proud of Charlie for not letting a global crisis get in her way.

The Gould family: our Christmas stars

The Gould family gave the best Christmas gift in 2019 – it was the gift that kept on giving. They adorned their beautiful house in Caterham with thousands of fairy lights and illuminated Christmas decorations to raise funds for Stripey Stork. We are eternally grateful for the amazing £2,408 they raised and they Christmas cheer they spread. They even held two events with Santa, snow, mince pies and carols, to bring the crowds in. They certainly don’t do things by halves and we loved it!

Ann & Gaynor: Horley Tangent nightriders

In the dark of the night, one evening in June 2019, Ann and Gaynor (along with our Stripey mascots) pedalled 50km around the famous landmarks of London in the Nightrider challenge. They raised a whopping £760 in sponsorship, had a whale of a time and experienced a side of London many of us don’t ever get to see. Their passion for Stripey Stork and the money they raised kept them going til dawn.
