One of the many things I love about being involved with Stripey Stork is the interesting people you get to meet. People come to donate items or volunteer, and when you get chatting you learn about their families, their jobs and their interests.
Alex English is a Reigate mum with two lovely boys, and she got in contact with us about donating some items. It turns out that Alex is also a published children’s author with a gorgeous book called ‘Yuck! said the Yak’ out at the moment.
‘Yuck! said the Yak’ is a beautifully illustrated picture book about a little boy called Alfie and the challenges he faces when a Yak comes to visit.
When Alex heard about the Santa Stork 2014 campaign she kindly offered to donate some of her books so we can include them in the gift bags that we’ll be handing out next week for local children. What a treat! Books are such a lovely present and we’re delighted that we can include some of Alex’s books in with the deliveries.
Win a copy of ‘Yuck! said the Yak’
Alex has also given us 5 copies of her book to share with our supporters! To be in with a chance to win a copy then all you need to do is sign up to our mailing list by entering your contact details at the bottom of our home page by 8pm on Sunday 30th November.
We’ll pick 5 winners and will get the books sent to you with plenty of time before Christmas.
If you are already on our mailing list you will automatically be entered.
And if you’re not lucky enough to win a copy then you can always buy the book online – such a great Christmas present idea.
Thank you to Alex for her support… and good luck everyone entering the competition!
