Welcome to Team Stork!

What happens next...

We’re always delighted to connect with those who want to support the valuable work we do, so thank you for your interest.

In case you don’t know much about us, we accept items which your children no longer need and pass them onto local families that need a helping hand. Our volunteers sort, safety check and prepare items so they are nicely presented before gifting them to the families who are referred to us from across Surrey and beyond – see your donation’s journey.  We’re one of the biggest baby banks in the UK and in 2023 we reached our ten year anniversary milestone. Stripey Stork has built a great reputation with local health and community professionals as being a service they can depend on.

You may be surprised to hear that the last official report (2020/21) revealed that 22,377 children were living in poverty in Surrey, with three quarters of these being from families with at least one working adult. A shocking statistic which is predicted to be even worse than it was back then.

At Stripey Stork we believe that every child deserves the same start in life, so by supporting us you’re contributing to making this happen. We work with many different organisations and partners – such as social workers, women’s refuges, schools and hospitals – who help us to ensure the donations we receive reach the families that need them most.

The stories we hear keep us motivated and drive us to help even more families, like:

  • The little girl whose Mum wasn’t accepting her daughter’s party invitations because she was embarrassed about her not having a party dress to wear.
  • The boy whose most treasured possession was a dressing gown we had gifted him because he’d never had anything like this to call his own. He had suffered chronic neglect so had been removed from the family home and was living at boarding school.
  • The little boy living in our local refuge who had been told by his abusive Father that Santa wouldn’t be coming because he was a naughty boy.

Thank you for doing your part to help local families in our community.

Make a difference by getting involved at the warehouse at one of our regular volunteering sessions. It's a great way to meet new people, upskill and be part of our movement.

We are active on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn, so give us a follow and find out what we're up to from one day to the next. It's also how we communicate urgent requests and important announcements. @StripeyStork

Keep up to date with our news. Every month or so we'll let you know how your support is making a difference through sharing stories from families and referral partners, as well as what we've got coming up and any new ways to help.

We always have an Amazon wish list we keep updated with essential new items we need to complement our pre-loved packs. It's a hassle-free, affordable and effective way to help and all items are delivered direct to our warehouse.

You can make a financial contribution when you shop online at no extra cost to you through the EasyFundraising and GiveAsYouLive websites. Thousands of retailers are signed-up and the charitable donation is covered by them.

We run corporate volunteering sessions which are great for team building and getting stuck in to supporting our vital work. Or maybe your company has products or services they'd like to donate which would be useful?

We have lots of ideas of ways for you to fundraise for us. What better motivation then to be doing your chosen challenge for a great local cause? We love a wacky idea, so talk to us and we'll help make it happen.

We recruit a mighty team of runners for Run Reigate which takes place every September. We support our runners with fundraising and training. We love seeing the sea of orange in all the races - 5k, 10k, half marathon and kids' race.

We even have our very own Stripey's virtual challenge. You pick the challenge, do it at your own pace and when it suits you. As a reward you'll receive one of our limited edition collectable medals.

Involving and engaging our young supporters is very important to us, which is why we’ve built up a great resource of free kids' activities. It also helps them to learn about what we do, which encourages them to think about kindness.

One Mum’s unthinkable choice

“Sometimes we find ourselves sitting in the car at 6pm, hungry and cold, waiting to hear where we’re being moved to. There’s no stability or routine for the children. At a time when they should be winding down for bed,
