The ‘ring’ of kindness
We love this story of kindness, connections, and a pinch of luck. A ring which had been in the family for generations, lost. A kind individual who reunited the treasured ring with its owner. A shared passion for Stripey Stork
Is your business or place of work looking for a charity partner? One that will harness and really value this new relationship? Then look no further. Community partnerships are key to us delivering the lifeline service we have become known for. They are what we do best, we even have a dedicated member of staff who manages these relationships. We offer a hands-on approach, when partnering with Stripey Stork, you’ll be able to see how your efforts are really making a difference to people’s lives.
From team volunteering days, to being involved in campaigns all throughout the year, we will work closely with you to ensure it’s a mutually beneficial relationship. Being presented with a cheque is not our objective, but developing a long lasting relationship that’s truly valued by all, that’s what we are about!
Stripey Stork is a Surrey based charity, with big ambitions, that transforms the lives of local families in need through the simple act of recycling. We take in baby equipment, toys and clothing (up to age 18) that families have outgrown and get them directly to those families who need them most. It’s such a simple concept – reusing valuable items to help those most in need – but has such a big impact. Tragically, growing up in poverty is a reality for many local families. A package from us can make all the difference in enabling a family to spend money on rent and food, without worrying about the basics for their children. By supporting our work, and partnering with Stripey Stork you will be enabling us to help over 3,500 families this year alone.
"What comes out of that warehouse is far more than practical – it’s the glue that holds communities together.
The message that says – you matter and we’ll help you get back on your feet."Lena Abdu - Children & Family Health Surrey
We love welcoming groups to our Reigate office and we offer busy, fun and highly rewarding days. You’ll be at the heart of our work – sorting and checking items ready to go out to a new family – and it’s so rewarding to know the real difference you have made by the end of each session.
"We gave it our all, and do you know what, when we left every single one of us felt incredibly inspired, motivated to do more and emphatically rewarded. We had given our time but we had gotten so much more back in return."
Fidelity – Corporate Volunteering
We run a series of campaigns across the year which are a great way to support our work. From our biggest campaign which is at Christmas, where we get to play Santa and give presents to local children and parents who would otherwise go without. Thousands of new and specifically gifts are distributed in our local community. It’s a very special project which we’d love for you to be involved with.
Other campaigns include A Gift for Mum, where we treat the Mums we are supporting with a pamper pack and handwritten card for Mother’s Day.
We also have a special day in summer called Stripes4Stripey where we encourage everyone to wear stripes and fundraise for our ‘new underwear, socks and pyjamas’ fund. It’s such a fun day which the local community has wholeheartedly embraced and it’s become a firm favourite in Stripey’s calendar.
We have fundraising events all year round and would love for you to get involved!
We'd love to have you on Team Stork for Run Reigate in September. To express your interest for the 5k, 10k, half marathon or kid's race, email events@stripeystork.org.uk.
There will also be the opportunity to work with our team on designing your own events, from corporate challenges to achieving an individual physical goal. We even have our own Stripey Stork medal to reward you with after completing your very own virtual challenge. We’ll be with you every step of the way as you’re ‘earning your stripes’ for Team Stork!
