Vote for us in the ‘Heart of the Community’ awards

It appears that the season for ‘giving’ is early this year. A few days ago we asked you to vote for us in the Skipton Building Society Grassroots Giving Programme as we are shortlisted for the chance to win £500 (it’s still not too late if you haven’t voted – click here for details).

Stripey Stork have also been shortlisted to receive a portion of the £20,000 available from the Surrey Mirror ‘Heart of the Community’ awards.

This is a fantastic opportunity, especially as the prizes range from £1000 to £4000 – this money would make a MASSIVE difference to us as we head into our second year with great determination and big ambitions.

Voting will start with tokens in the paper (Surrey Mirror, Dorking Advertiser) for three weeks:

  • Thursday 4th September
  • Thursday 11th September
  • Thursday 18th September

On 11th September lines will open for text voting and we will let you know the unique code to use as soon as it is available.

The closing date for all voting is midnight Sunday 28th September.

So how can you help….?

1. Buy the Surrey Mirror for the next three weeks and complete the coupon selecting Stripey Stork

2. Mention us to any friends, family or neighbours that buy the Surrey Mirror and encourage them to vote for Stripey Stork

3. If you work in the local area why not offer to be a collection point for your colleagues who read the paper to drop their coupons with you?

4. Ask in your child’s school/nursery if they will mention these awards in their weekly newsletter, and then arrange to collect any coupons that come in for Stripey Stork

You can drop off any completed coupons at the offices of Halliwell Marks estate agents in Reigate who will hold them for us. This will save you having to find a stamp and envelope, and it is a very handy location for anyone who might pick up their copy of the Surrey Mirror from Martin’s newsagent or Morrisons in Reigate.

Thank you as always for your support… and here’s to celebrating all the positive things going on in our community!
